Urban Thicket Workshop

Dato: 12.04.2026
Tid: 11:00-16:00
Arrangør: Freya Coursey og Fergus Tibbs

Taking place over one weekend, Urban Thicket is an event for anyone curious about the meeting point between scientific methods and contemporary art.

You will explore how the soundscapes of the city and the natural environment overlap, blend, and shape the way we, and other organisms, experience place.

Over two days, you will take part in soundwalks, focused listening sessions, shared meals, open discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Urban Thicket is part of Eco-Dialogues, a collaborative event series by ecologist, Freya Coursey and artist, Fergus Tibbs which explores meeting points between scientific and artistic practices.

Guest contributor, Knut Jonas Sellevold is a Bergen-based sound artist, music producer, educator and researcher. His research and creative practice is rooted in sound studies, ethnomusicology and radical pedagogies, interdisciplinary at heart, always with an eye on agency and social change. Knut’s work focuses on collaboration through experimentation and improvisation, working across, through and between the fields of art, music, sound and education.

You can sign up for one or two days (free to attend).

Will there be lunch?
