Bergen Assembly Welcomes New Team Members

22.01.2021

New team members from left: Josephine Van De Walle, Christa Mako Teigen, and Christine V. Olsen.

Bergen Assembly has welcomed a few new additions to the team in 2020. Last summer Josephine Van De Walle joined as advisory board and partner coordinator and Christa Mako Teigen as the new communications coordinator. In January 2021, Christine V. Olsen joined the team as the new administrative coordinator of Bergen Assembly. The team is looking forward to support the institution long term and busily working on the next edition.

Josephine, Christa and Christine work together with the project coordinator in Bergen, Tor Steffen Espedal and Bergen Assembly’s director Ingrid Haug Erstad.

Josephine Van De Walle has a background in art and curating. She has worked at different international institutions such as Market Art Fair, Fotografiska, Index – The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation and S.M.A.K. In addition to her work at Bergen Assembly Josephine is the Artistic Director of Market Art Fair, the annual fair for contemporary art in the Nordic region based in Stockholm.
Christa, originally from the Los Angeles area, received an MA in Language & Linguistics at the University of Aberdeen. Since moving to Bergen in early 2018 she has worked as a cultural organiser with VUMA projects and become a partner at the Bergen-based nomadic gallery and mediation platform artfolk. She joined the communications team of Bergen Assembly as a volunteer for the previous edition and is now very excited to be a part-time team member.

Christine V. Olsen has broad experience working as a financial controller and project planner with her most recent position held at Helse Vest. She attained her Msc in Applied Economics at Fudan University in Shanghai, spending altogether four years in China. These years proved to be significant for her interest of the arts. Her shift into the art industry has been long overdue and she is eager to make use of her specialised experience at Bergen Assembly
